    Words that join two words or sentences are called conjunctions. They are also known as joining words. For example, I want to play but I am tired.

    1. Don’t touch the pan because it is hot.
    2. He was late because it was raining.

    4. I want to eat pizza but my stomach is full.

    Uses of Conjunctions

    1. And

    ‘And’ is used to join similar sentences, phrases, words or ideas.
    For example: She likes to play badminton and football.

    2. But

    ‘But’ is used to highlight contradiction between ideas.
    For example: Kabir wanted to play football but it started raining.

    3. Because

    ‘Because’ is used to indicate the cause or reason behind something.
    For example: I cannot come to your party because I have exams.

    ‘Since’ is used to tell a reason or show a time in the past.
    For example: I have been working on this project since morning.

    5. While

    ‘While’ is used to show two actions which are happening simultaneously or actions which are in contrast to each other.
