    Verbs refer to words that show action (doing something) or a state of being (existing).  It informs us of the actions of someone or something. The action might happen in the future, had happened in the past, or is happening in the present.

    Types of Verbs

    1. Action Verbs: Action verbs are words that express an action. They describe what someone or something is doing.

    Action Verb

    Examples:

    → Run: The cat runs across the yard.
    → Jump: I can jump high.
    → Eat: She eats an apple.

    2. Linking Verbs: Linking verbs are words that connect the subject of a sentence with a noun or adjective that describes it.

    Linking Verb

    Examples:

    → Am, Is, Are: He is happy.
    → Was, Were: They were tired.
    → Seem: The flowers seem beautiful.

    3. Helping Verbs: Helping verbs, also known as auxiliary verbs, work with the main verb to create verb phrases. They help to express the time, possibility, necessity or condition of the action.

    → Is playing: She is playing in the park.
    → Have eaten: They have eaten lunch.
    → Will go: We will go to the zoo.
