    Information retrieval refers to searching and getting the information you need from different sources like stories, anecdotes, pictures, time-table format, messages, invitations, texts, messages and so on. It's an essential skill for learning and discovering.

    Method

    The purpose of information retrieval is to check whether the student is able to understand any given piece of information and is able to interpret the information in a useful form.

    Following are some basic steps:

    Step 1: One should observe carefully the given information. Identify the key points. Read the questions asked.

    Step 2: Go back to the text or image. Read the information carefully to get all the necessary details for answering the questions.

    Step 3: Then answer the questions and you have retrieved the information.

    I. Look at the given timetable and answer the questions.

    Information Retrieval Grade 4

    1. How many number work classes do we have in a week before recess?

    Answer: We have a number work classes 3 days a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

    2. How many periods do we have after recess?

    Answer: We have 4 periods after recess.

    3. Do we have an art class on Wednesday?

    Answer: Yes, we do have an art class on Wednesday.

    II. Look at the birthday party invitation and answer the questions.

    1. What kind of invitation is this?

    Answer: It's a birthday party invitation.

    2. What time will the party start?

    Answer: The party will start at 7:00 pm.

    3. Where and when is the party taking place?

    Answer: The party is at Jack's house on 25th November, Sunday.
