Olympiad Exams in Argentina

i) Argentina Biology Olympiad

Organization and structure

It is sponsored and funded by the Ministry of National Education along with the other National Olympics that make up the Olympic program. It is based in the Department of Natural Sciences in the Department of Precision, Physical Chemistry and Natural Sciences of the National University of Río Cuarto.

This is a competition for regular students from secondary schools across the country. It consists of an Executive Organizing Committee, an Academic Committee and an Academic Support Committee for the International Olympics.

It Is a contest between regular students from secondary schools across the country divided into 2 levels of participation, level (I) and level (II) according to the following criteria:

- The educational institution that has a 6/7 years in total (Basic cycle and Orientation cycle), participation is as follows:
- Level I: 1st, 2nd, 3rd year
- Level II: 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th year.

- Educational Institutions that have a 5 years in total (Basic Cycle and Orientation Cycle), participation is as follows:
- Level I: 1st and 2nd year - Level II: 3rd, 4rth and 5th year.

Awards

All participants of intercollegiate and national instances receive a certificate of participation. In the national instances, 7 special prizes are recognized with medals and the first places with bronze, silver and gold medals for the team with the highest score in the exam. Numerous books are also provided to help improve the availability of up-to-date bibliographies in participating schools.
