    Words that are used in place of nouns in a sentence are called pronouns. It avoids repetition and helps us to tell better stories. For example, Kate loves to eat. Her favourite food is pizza.

    Why Do We Use Pronouns?

    1. Pronouns are used to avoid repetition of words in a sentence or a paragraph.
    2. Pronouns allow us to convey information more efficiently.

    Uses of Pronouns

    1. He

    We use ‘He’ pronoun for male individuals.
    Example: Victor loves cricket. He is the best batsman.

    2. She

    We use ‘She’ pronoun for female individuals.
    Example: Stacy is 7 years old. She loves dancing.

    3. It

    The ‘It’ pronoun is used for objects, things, and animals that are not considered to have a gender.
    Example: Coffee is ready. It is on the table.

    ‘You’ is used to refer to a person who you are speaking to.
    Example: You should come to my house.

    5. They

    ‘They’ is used when we want to refer to more than one person.
    Example: They are going to the mall.

    ‘We’ is also used to refer to a group of people where the speaker itself is a part of the group.
    Example: We all are going to watch a movie.

    7. Us

    ‘Us’ refers to the speaker and a person who is present with the speaker.
    Example: He invited us to a party.

    8. These

    ‘These’ is used to indicate objects or people that are nearby or within reach.
    Example: These toys on the bed are mine.

    9. Those

    ‘Those’ is used to indicate objects or individuals that are at a distance.
    Example: Those people play football daily.

    10. This

    ‘This’ is a singular pronoun used to indicate objects or persons within reach or nearby.
    Example: This painting is stunning.

    11. That

    ‘That’ is a singular pronoun that is used to indicate objects or persons that are at a distance.
    Example: That dog is huge.
