Embracing Sustainability: A Holistic Approach to Energy Conservation

Our Eco-Friendly Home:

At our house, we're doing things to help the Earth. Our solar roofs are like magic panels that soak up sunlight. By using the power of the sun through solar roofs, we not only reduce our carbon footprint but also pave the way for a greener and more energy-efficient future.

Switching to E-Bikes:

We changed from regular bikes to e-bikes. It's a choice we made to help fight pollution and make our environment healthier for everyone. We want to live in a cleaner and greener way.

Water Saver Meters:

Putting in water cut-off meters is like having helpful friends for the environment. They quietly remind us to appreciate and not waste water. When we make this thoughtful choice at home, it's like a small stone making big ripples, helping with the important job of saving water for everyone.

Using LED Lights at Home:

We use LED lights to brighten up our house. They use much less energy, making our place bright and saving money on our electricity bills. It's a small change, but it makes a big difference. It shows that we can easily make our lives better while also taking care of the Earth.

Student Projects for a Better World:

Our GIIS IGCSE students engage in weekly discussions about projects aimed at helping the Earth. They gather information using Google Forms surveys, analyse the data, and learn why it's important for things to be sustainable. It's all about making the world a better place!

Bright Fridays:

Every Friday during the first hour, our IGCSE team has a Light-Saving Hour. We switch off the lights and gather outdoors to learn in the natural light. Not only does natural light make everything look pleasant, but being outside can also uplift your mood and overall well-being. It's a fun way to learn and get some health benefits from the sun!

Conclusion:

We're doing simple things at home and at school to help the Earth.

From using solar roofs and e-bikes to turning off lights and talking about it every week, we're making a difference.

When we switch to LED lights and use water-saving meters, it's not just about our place; it's about the big picture, making the whole world better.

Our IGCSE team even has this awesome idea for Fridays – turning off lights and learning outside. It’s for everyone and the planet.

We're part of a global effort, kind of like a team and it fits right in with what G20 talks about making the world better for everyone. So, our small choices add up to something big, and that's pretty awesome!
